How to Transfer a Domain to Zentec

Transferring your domain to Zentec allows you to manage both your hosting and your domain in one place, with easier billing and support. Here’s how to complete the transfer in a few steps.

✅ Step 1: Prepare Your Domain for Transfer

Before initiating the transfer, go to your current domain registrar and:

  • Unlock the domain name

  • Disable WHOIS privacy (if enabled)

  • Obtain your domain transfer (EPP) code

  • Make sure the domain is at least 60 days old and not expired

  • Confirm that your contact email is up to date (you’ll receive a confirmation link)

✅ Step 2: Start the Transfer on Zentec

  1. Go to: https://zentecsolutions.ca/billing

  2. Click on DomainsTransfer Domain to Us

  3. Enter your domain name and the EPP code

  4. Complete the checkout process (a one-year renewal fee will apply)

✅ Step 3: Approve the Transfer

  • Check your email (used as domain admin contact)

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email from the current registrar or registry

  • Approve the transfer by clicking the verification link

✅ Step 4: Wait for Completion

  • The transfer typically takes 5 to 7 days to complete

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email from Zentec when it’s done

✅ Once the transfer is complete, you’ll be able to manage DNS, renewals, and settings directly from your Zentec client area.

ℹ️ Important Notes:

  • The domain's expiration date will be extended by one year after a successful transfer

  • Some domain extensions (.ca, .uk, etc.) have additional rules — contact us if unsure

  • If the transfer fails, no fees will be charged, and you can retry after fixing the issue
