WHOIS Privacy (also known as domain privacy protection) hides your personal contact information from public domain records. Without it, anyone can look up your name, email, phone number, and address associated with your domain.
Zentec makes it easy to protect your privacy in just a few steps:
✅ Step 1: Log in to Your Zentec Client Area
-
Sign in with your client credentials
-
Click on the Domains tab
✅ Step 2: Select Your Domain
-
Choose the domain for which you want to enable WHOIS Privacy
-
Click on Manage Domain
✅ Step 3: Enable Domain Privacy Protection
-
In the left-hand menu, go to Addons or Manage Protection
-
Look for ID Protection or WHOIS Privacy
-
Click Enable (or Buy Now, if not already included in your domain plan)
-
Confirm the activation — the change takes effect within minutes
???? What Happens When It’s Enabled?
Your contact info is replaced in the WHOIS database with generic, anonymous contact details from Zentec’s privacy service provider.
Example:
Name: Domain Privacy Service
Email: proxy@zentecprotect.ca
Phone: Not disclosed
???? Notes:
-
WHOIS Privacy may not be available for some domain extensions (like .ca or .us)
-
If your domain already has privacy protection enabled from another registrar, you may need to disable it there first
